Konstantinos Rantos is an Associate Professor at the Computer Science Department of the International Hellenic University of Greece and Director of the Web Services and Information Security Lab. He received his Diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras, Greece, and both his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Information Security (sponsored by Marie Curie Research and Training Grant) from Royal Holloway, University of London. He has extensive research and development project involvement and substantial (more than 20 years) private- and public-sector experience in the area of information security. He participated in many national as well as research and development projects under EU ACTS, CIP LSPs, ARTEMIS JU, FP7, and H2020 programmes. He has also served as a scientific supervisor and has managed more than 20 development and consulting projects providing services to key private and public sector bodies. He has been a representative of Greece in European working groups on issues of authentication, digital signatures and e-government. He (co-)authored many articles in international scientific journals, book and conference chapters, and acts as a reviewer to a number of conferences and scientific journals. His research interests are in the areas of cybersecurity, Internet of Things security, authentication systems, and privacy.
